Auto Re-route
I would like automatic re-route feature incorporated. Many times, I miss a turn and it is very frustrating to need to delete the current route and re-search the destination and get started again.

Access Google user maps / My places / Starred items
With Google ID, get list of maps created by user, and visualize its nodes.
Really useful for them who plan their trips that way, like me do.239 votes -
Create a manageable local cache of the last use map area
By having some limited local cache of the map it reduce the loading time of the map and mobile network usage.
The cache need not be huge perhaps a decent 50mb can be implemented.196 votes -
Latitude and 2-step authentication
Latitude not working with 2-step authentication, even with special generated key (Mango, v1.11, v1.12).

Public transit service directions (not only the layer)
Put directions for bus transportation services it is on every Google map application except for this one because its new but it will be useful for people who live in big metropoliation cities like Houston,Texas I used to have a Android phone and for its apps they made it useful for its users and I know Microsoft and its app developers will do the same

This functionality partially implemented at 1.12 Pro. You can find route by public transport with new travel type.

Auto-zoom when navigating
When navigating there should be an auto-zoom feature to zoom, rotate and center the maps so that :
- the current location is shown at the bottom of the screen
- the destinations is shown at the top of the screen
- the auto-zoom is refreshed when current location changes
This would really make navigating easier, with the right zoom to use the maximum of the screen!107 votes -

Get the Offset of Chinese Maps using Baidu API
can use baidu API to conver the original lat/long to the fixed values
sample:
http://api.map.baidu.com/ag/coord/convert?from=0&to=2&x=116.254615&y=29.814476you can call the api once and calculate the offset. then use this offset later. the offset is accurate in a certain range.

We have finished private beta gMaps v1.17 with China Maps offset. It is Release Candidate version.
It could be downloaded by the following link:
zune://navigate/?appid=be112852-0612-45ee-8fc1-431b9ec4ff17If you have any issues accessing the beta please write email to gmaps.wp7@gmail.com with ‘beta’ in a subject and your live id in a body.
We really waiting for your feedback. Only it will help us to release public gMaps version for China market in nearest future.

Smoother scrolling and rendering
especially when search results are listed, or traffic is on, or more stuff is on the screen, the scrolling and rendering of the maps is not smooth. It jumps making the overall user experience not as good...

Store the pics of the route local, so you don't need internet while traveling
By downloading the pics around your route on the moment of entering the route. It won't need internet when on the road. Sounds good to me ;)

Change Live Tile
Current tile is ugly, so I'm not putting gMaps to start screen.
Consider changing tile to at least something similar to Bingle maps or Offline maps. Better if you do it in Metro style.
Thanks.22 votes -
