Create a manageable local cache of the last use map area
By having some limited local cache of the map it reduce the loading time of the map and mobile network usage.
The cache need not be huge perhaps a decent 50mb can be implemented.

In weak signal areas the map may not load at all or be so slow the it loads as it disappears off the edge of the screen. Nokia drive gives users the option to download whole countries. I appreciate it would take too much memory to store the satellite images, but we do need some local storage of maps. Would save data charges too.
